- ➤ The family of Henry Leon Miller, who died in an April crash on the I-210 Bridge, filed a lawsuit claiming that poor lighting—removed after Hurricane Laura—helped cause the fatal accident and that local groups are responsible as work to replace the lights is set to finish by fall. 7 KPLC

- ➤ Ball’s Fried Chick-N reopened today on Enterprise Boulevard after nearly five years of closure due to Hurricane Laura, and early customers lined up for their favorites. - ➤ A group of Southwest Louisiana high school students traveled to Baton Rouge today to meet with state legislators and discuss lowering teen suicide rates through their student-led Peer Initiative+ an organization formed after several teen suicides in the Lake area. They noted that suicide is the second leading cause of death for middle and high school students aged 12 to 18. 7 KPLC
