- ➤ Lake Charles will host Movies with the Mayor on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Rosa Heart Theatre (inside the Event Center), where families will enjoy Cookies, Cocoa, a reading nook and more, with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer starting at 5 p.m. Gator 99.5
- ➤ Blue Martini at Golden Nugget will host an ugly Christmas sweater contest on Saturday, Dec. 20 with first-place winnings of $500, $200 for second, and $200 for the best couple's sweater; the event will feature live music (Flashpoint and DJ John Floyd) for a festive celebration. Gator 99.5
- ➤ Every Wednesday until Dec.31, the Gulf Coast Bird Club meets at Lakeside of Port Wonder to spot loons and other rare birds. Club leader David Booth encourages kids to join and bring bread for feeding ducks. 7 KPLC
- ➤ The Lake Charles Community Band has announced it will hold its Christmas Concert at a new venue. Details on the location and schedule will be shared soon. 7 KPLC

- ➤ Hungary’s state-owned MVM Group signed a five-year LNG deal with Chevron that will include gas from Energy Transfer’s Lake Charles export facility (set to start operations in 2028 or 2029), with the gas shipping to Hungary via Croatia’s Krk LNG terminal. The American Press

- ➤ Honky Tonk Mexican Johnny Jimenez returns to Lake Charles for three holiday shows. He will perform at Linda's Lounge on Thursday, Dec. 25 at 9:00 a.m., at Chaser's Bar & Grill on Friday, Dec. 26 at 8:00 p.m., and at The Wharf Bar & Grill on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 9:00 p.m. Gator 99.5
- ➤ The Lake Charles Community Band moved its Christmas Concert to McNeese University's Tritico Theatre at 4205 Ryan St after a last-minute change from WW Lewis Middle School. The performance started at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17 and the band thanked the McNeese Music Department for hosting. 7 KPLC

- ➤ James Landreneau, after 10 years coaching McNeese softball, will head the Gumbeaux Gators summer baseball team next season at Joe Miller Ballpark. He will also coach his son Jaxon as part of a one-year deal praised by team owner Ronnie Rantz. The American Press
