- ➤ Residents in southwest Louisiana embrace Christmas morning with Community Coffee and local seasonings — including Tony Chachere’s — that add cherished Cajun flavor to holiday meals. Gator 99.5
- ➤ Rock legends Styx will perform at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles on Saturday, March 28, 2026, and tickets go on sale this Friday at 10:00 a.m. Gator 99.5
- ➤ Almosta Ranch will offer private carriage and sleigh rides from the Lake Charles Event Center along Shell Beach Drive starting December 19 through December 23—offering rides at 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 9:15 p.m. for couples, families, and groups seeking festive fun. Gator 99.5

- ➤ SOWELA received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to offer an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care. Applications for Spring 2026 enrollment are open to meet general education requirements before Fall 2026 respiratory coursework begins and prepares students for the NBRC exam (a five-star career opportunity). 7 KPLC
- ➤ The Junior League of Lake Charles announced fall education grant winners who will support innovative school projects, including TEACH grant winner Rebecca Snead of East Beauregard Elementary and Branch Out & Grow recipients who set a record with $25,000 awarded across local schools. 7 KPLC
