- ➤ Owners Cynthia and Larry Eagle have launched their 12th season of The Lost Hollows, a haunted trail that gives Lake Charles safe, family-friendly Halloween fun today with repurposed sets — offering interactive theater in the woods. Guests will board a cattle trailer shuttle at 6 p.m., pay $30 for regular admission or $50 for a fast pass, and a special Lights Out event will be held Saturday. The American Press

- ➤ Lake Charles City Council voted 4-3 on Tuesday to build a $30 million sports complex at the old Capital One Tower site in place of the proposed Fitzenreiter Road location, and Mayor Marshall Simien said the project will use disaster recovery funds and be completed by August. 7 KPLC

- ➤ Six-year-old Konlee McCall from Sulphur was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis after her fifth birthday and now gets weekly treatments for her hurting joints.
