- ➤ Southwest Louisiana’s largest flea market, Flea Fest, will take place on November 15 and November 16 at the Burton Coliseum event barn (7001 Gulf Hwy) in Lake Charles. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., charges $5 for general admission with free parking, and will feature vendors selling antiques, retro items and handcrafted goods along with food trucks and family activities. - ➤ Residents will be able to help prevent identity theft by bringing up to three boxes of documents for secure commercial shredding at the free, drive-thru Community Shred Fest at Prien Lake Mall on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 8—11 a.m. The American Press

- ➤ Cathy Morton and Craig Morton bought Foret Flooring in 2014 after Cathy joined the business through a phone answering job and have since grown the business amid rising fuel prices, product shortages and hurricanes. - ➤ Last week the Alliance to Fight Human Trafficking in Southwest Louisiana held its annual breakfast at L’Auberge Casino and Resort to review strategies against modern slavery in our area.
