- ➤ Former District Attorney John DeRosier died Thursday morning at age 78; he served 15 years in Calcasieu Parish and was a Vietnam War veteran who also worked as city attorney and general counsel for the sheriff’s office. Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home and will continue Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. with a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church—local officials remember his dedicated service.
