- ➤ Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reported that I-10 West in Vinton was closed before La. 108 due to a crane accident around 7:15 a.m. Saturday morning. 7 KPLC
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Louisiana State Police said on Saturday, August 16th that a 37-year-old man from Vinton hijacked a construction crane parked in a work zone near LA-108 on I-10, causing four crashes that injured two people and damaged the crane before he was arrested on charges including burglary, negligent injuring and hit-and-run driving — detectives are still looking into a possible accomplice. 7 KPLC

- ➤ Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry signed a law last year to benefit insurance companies, yet one local homeowner’s insurance premium rose to $3,097—a $287 increase from last year—because his agent said inflation raised his home’s replacement coverage.
