- ➤ Chief Judge Cynthia Clay Guillory celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Judicial Complex in downtown Lake Charles, marking the end of a 20-year process to create a modern 108,000-square-foot facility that will consolidate all district court operations. Construction will take nearly two and a half years, and once complete the old court building will be demolished to create Calcasieu Square — a public green space linking Lakeshore Drive and Ryan Street.
