CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lake Charles police said that on July 27 officers responded to a shooting on the 2400 block of Anita Drive where three people were shot at and one was hit, and bullets struck a nearby home; the injured person suffered non-life-threatening wounds and has not cooperated as police ask anyone with information to call (337-491-1311). 7 KPLC

- ➤ The Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance has launched a survey for residents from Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff Davis parishes to share ideas for boosting economic opportunities. CEO Scott Walker said survey results will guide a strategic plan that aims to create more jobs and attract investment— the plan is expected by January. 7 KPLC
