- ➤ On Aug. 4, Calcasieu Correctional Center booked multiple individuals from Lake Charles and nearby areas on charges that ranged from aggravated assault with a firearm, domestic abuse and stalking to theft under $5,000 and violations of protective orders. 7 KPLC
- ➤ A 20-year-old Lake Charles man, Johnjose Connor Welsh, died after being fatally shot outside On The Rocks when officers cleared a large crowd on the 800 block of McNeese Street near the McNeese State University Legacy Center Saturday morning—police continue their investigation. - ➤ Students at McNeese will begin move-in on August 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dorm staff advise arriving early to manage the busy day + final touches are being added to the rooms. 7 KPLC
