Two employees sustained moderate acid burns from a chemical release at Louisiana Pigment’s Bayou D’Inde Road plant — Westlake — on July 27th and were treated while plant management said the incident posed no risk to the public.

Two people were injured by a chemical release at the Louisiana Pigment facility on July 28+ local officials began investigating the incident.

Venture Global wrapped up financing for its second LNG export terminal — Calcasieu Pass 2 in Cameron Parish — and the facility will begin production in 2027 with 400 permanent workers.
