- ➤ Calcasieu Correctional Center booked several Lake Charles residents on July 4 for charges that included battery of a police officer, possession of Schedule I and II drugs, trespassing, resisting an officer, theft under $1,000, burglary, domestic abuse battery and other offenses plus others from Franklin and Houston were also arrested for contempt of court and related charges. 7 KPLC
- ➤ Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies investigated a Fourth of July shooting on Friday night on Allen Street in DeQuincy and found 26-year-old Cortez D. Boston dead from a gunshot wound—another person was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, authorities said. The American Press
