  • Rockin Warner Ranch held a one-day Fourth of July horse camp where kids and teens rode horses, painted them, and raced barrels on a hot, humid day. Owner Lyndsie Warner said the camp — a chance for young riders like seven-year-old Maylen Potter to live out their childhood dreams — taught valuable lessons in perseverance and hope.  7 KPLC

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On July 4, deputies rescued three people from a boat that flipped on the Calcasieu Ship Channel — the boat was towed to shore while the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries investigates the incident.  7 KPLC

CRIME NEWS

  • A Fenton man (24-year-old Tavin Latrell Talbert) was taken into custody Thursday after a shooting on Second Street north of First Avenue in Fenton left no one hurt, and he now faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, illegal carrying/discharge of weapons and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  7 KPLC
