- ➤ A Lake Charles man already convicted of felonies was found guilty of attacking his former girlfriend and killing her son and a dog on New Year’s Day 2024, and he will be sentenced on Aug. 21 for second‑degree murder, kidnapping, aggravated cruelty to animals, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 7 KPLC

Rayborn, was found guilty on Thursday of second-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, aggravated cruelty to animals, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon—he fatally shot his girlfriend’s 26-year-old son and their dog during a brutal attack on his ex-girlfriend, with sentencing set for Aug. 21.
