- ➤ A Lake Charles man, Kevin E. Williams, 26, was sentenced on Friday for his role in the fatal 2023 robbery that led to the shooting death of 25-year-old Damarcus A. Ardoin at his Westwood Road home—he will serve life without parole and 25 consecutive years. The American Press
- ➤ Sheriff Stitch Guillory warned residents yesterday about scams in which fraudsters call to claim computer problems or text messages demanding DMV ticket payments — he advised people to verify details before using gift or prepaid cards. The American Press

- ➤ Lake Charles artist Ryann Sterling has a new African American art exhibit on display in the Black Heritage Gallery, featuring 15 paintings, mixed media collages, sculptures and photography that showcase vibrant colors and Southern themes.
