- ➤ Authorities are investigating an attempted arson at the First Baptist Church of DeRidder after a heavy-set white male driving a small dark SUV tried to set fire early Saturday, May 31, and police are asking anyone with surveillance footage from Highway 171, Highway 26, or Highway 112 between midnight and 3 a.m. to call in — the suspect may have sustained burns during the incident. 7 KPLC
- ➤ Calcasieu Correctional Center on May 30 booked multiple individuals for charges such as domestic abuse, contempt of court, drug paraphernalia, and attempted second-degree murder in Lake Charles and nearby areas — the report also detailed offenses including resisting an officer, probation violative acts, and property crimes. 7 KPLC
