- ➤ Westlake's Rams won their first state title in 30 years on Saturday, May 16 when Mason Conrad pitched a complete game and struck out four Sterlington batters in a 7 to 2 win (earning him Most Outstanding Player honors). The American Press
- ➤ At Alumni Field in Hammond on Saturday, the McNeese Cowboys fell 13-12 to the Southeastern Lions when Peyton Woods hit a two-run homer in the 11th inning. Coach Justin Hill said his team fought hard, and the loss leaves their playoff hopes on hold. The American Press
