- ➤ Second Harvest Food Bank cut the ribbon on a new 24,000 square foot distribution center in Lake Charles early Friday morning, which now serves 23 parishes and 30 local pantries. - ➤ The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office warns that a scammer posing as a bonding company representative tricked a family member of an incarcerated person into sending $500 via a payment app— the incarcerated individual does not have a bond and is awaiting a court hearing. 7 KPLC

- ➤ SOWELA Technical Community College is now registering students for an 18‑week HVAC training program that starts with day classes on June 2 and evening classes on June 3—students will learn residential and commercial HVAC systems with OSHA training to prepare for EPA certification and jobs that pay around $64,000 a year. 7 KPLC
