- ➤ Australia's Woodside Energy finalized its decision to invest $17.5 billion in the Louisiana LNG project at the Port of Lake Charles to build a three-train export facility expected to begin LNG exports in 2029 and create about 15,000 construction jobs (with 4,000 permanent roles later). - ➤ Louisiana teachers will be able to visit participating Whataburger restaurants from May 6 through May 10 between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. for a free breakfast if they show a valid school ID—Whataburger will also award 75 teachers with $1,000 classroom grants during National Teacher Appreciation Week to support classrooms. - ➤ Calcasieu Parish will host the Early Childhood Coordinated Enrollment Event at the Lake Charles Event Center on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.
