  • The family-friendly Louisiana Railroad Days Festival takes place this weekend at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum with a 3 p.m. parade, Gospel Night at 6 p.m. and an 8 p.m. performance by country artist Cacey Chesnutt.   • City officials and community leaders broke ground on the Lock Park Transformation Project on Thursday at the park located at Ryan Street, 7th Street and Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive — the long-loved site will soon feature accessible swings, a roller slide, and adaptive play areas for all families.  The American Press

  • Crying Eagle Brewing is celebrating 10 years with a summer concert series for 21+ that begins May 16 with The Blanks; June 13 features Wayne Toups, July 18 has Molly Ringwalds, Aug. 15 hosts Marc Broussard, and Sept. 19 closes with the Chee Weez at its new downtown lakefront.  Gator 99.5

  • Bridget Martin, who spent over 40 years with McNeese Athletics, has been named the new athletic director and will be officially introduced on Monday, Apr. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Jack Doland Field House.  Gator 99.5
  • The McNeese State women’s tennis team will seek to claim the Southland Conference championship today at Nancy Hawk Tennis Center when they face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. The team, coming off a 14-match winning streak and led by coach Sonia Carlson, aims to secure its first outright title.  The American Press
  • On Friday night, Incarnate Word beat the McNeese Cowboys 6+2 at Joe Miller Ballpark with three solo home runs, while the McNeese Cowgirls ended a four-game skid by winning 8+4 over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  The American Press
