- ➤ A Lake Charles man, Dartanyan Breaux, is on trial for allegedly raping a woman nearly 40 years ago after retested DNA evidence from 1988 linked him to the crime—his trial began today. 7 KPLC
- ➤ Douglas Robare was shot and killed on March 3 near Bundick Lake on Paul Green Road when a dispute over a four-wheeler escalated into gunfire—his family now seeks a fair investigation to find answers—according to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office. 7 KPLC

- ➤ Cyphacon returns Friday at the Lake Charles Event Center for a three-day celebration of sci-fi, anime and gaming featuring celebrity guests, local artists and over 80 vendors offering collectibles—visitors can also join new Haunts and Histories walking tours downtown on Friday and Saturday. - ➤ The Imperial Calcasieu Museum is opening two new exhibits that show work by over 20 local artists in areas like painting, sculpture, and print making.
