- ➤ A new study found that Louisiana high schoolers are less likely to earn internship credits and complete apprenticeships than their peers in other southern states, with about 5 percent finishing internships and only 3 in 1,000 completing apprenticeships in 2023. State education officials will push for more work-based learning next school year—plans include merging tax credits to encourage more businesses to offer these opportunities. The Advocate
