  • Millennium Park was closed on March 25 for safety improvements — the park’s anti-fall surface is being replaced with durable turf. City officials say it is expected to reopen by Friday, April 17, weather permitting.  7 KPLC

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • DOTD announced that if weather cooperates, the right westbound lane on the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles will reopen later this week after repairs following a multi-vehicle crash Sunday (the driver was unharmed).  Gator 99.5

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Kay Fox retired on Wednesday, Mar. 25 from BECi after decades of service—her departure marks the end of a long and dedicated career at the company.  7 KPLC

CULTURE NEWS

  • This weekend, Trace Adkins performs at Coushatta Casino Resort at 8:00 p.m. Friday and South Beau Easter Festival runs at Ragley Rec Center from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, while Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys perform at Jellystone RV park during the Jambalaya Cookoff on Saturday.  Gator 99.5

  • Louisiana state-recognized Native American tribes face reduced health care access as new Medicaid rules require work and six-month reenrollment, with tribal leaders warning that stricter requirements may force residents to travel long distances for rural clinic services (a concern heightened by high poverty levels).  7 KPLC
