  • Immigration investigators visited a construction site off Country Club Road where Shreve Land Construction is building an apartment complex; viewers reported that two suspects fled into a nearby neighborhood before being apprehended while in custody, and authorities have not released official details.  7 KPLC

  • On Thursday, March 20, a ribbon cutting marked the launch of a multimillion-dollar public-private partnership at Port Wonder as it prepares to host the Children's Museum of Southwest Louisiana—covering 15,000 square feet for interactive exhibits—and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Nature and Science Center, which occupies 5,700 square feet; the museums will soon open with separate, ticketed admissions.  CBS Lake Charles

  • Iowa High band will travel to Washington D.C. to perform in the National Independence Day Parade — invited by Congressman Clay Higgins — and is planning fundraisers including a mattress sale, bake sale and sponsor night at Paul’s Rib Shack to cover expenses. Director David Billodeau said the trip gives the small band a rare chance to represent Southwest Louisiana on a national stage.  7 KPLC

  • Gov. Jeff Landry is touring Louisiana to build support for Amendment 2 on the March 29 ballot and is using talk radio and ads to urge voters to approve a measure that will lower taxes and limit government spending.
