- ➤ Today at the Gator 99.5 studios on 900 North Lakeshore Drive, Bearfoot Monster Truck is available for free viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Families can capture photos of the truck before Saturday’s monster truck show at the Lake Charles Event Center. Gator 99.5
- ➤ Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and Youth/DARE Division will host a free youth fishing derby for ages 5 to 15 Saturday, April 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at CPSO Farm Pond (behind the Correctional Center). - ➤ KPLC legend John Bridges was inducted today into the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame — honoring his 50 years in broadcasting including more than 30 with KPLC where he built a trusted connection with the community. 7 KPLC
- ➤ Air Force Concert Band with the Singing Sergeants will perform on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in historic F.G. Bulber Auditorium as part of America's 250th birthday celebration (tickets are free but must be reserved in advance as over 900 seats are already claimed). The American Press
- ➤ Ryan Street will host the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 21, featuring 13 bars, free shots and a $30 ticket to support the Southwest Louisiana Firefighters Association (nonprofit). Attendees must wear green, bring valid IDs and plan a safe ride home. Gator 99.5
- ➤ The Iowa Rabbit Festival showcases local rabbit cuisine and live music at the Burton Complex on Gulf Hwy from March 19 to March 21 - today, families enjoy carnival rides and community-supported activities at the ongoing event. 7 KPLC

- ➤ The Epps Memorial Branch Library will host a free Computer Basics 101 class for adults Tuesday, Mar. 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1320 N. Simmons St where library staff will guide beginners through essential computer skills. 7 KPLC

- ➤ Guard Javohn Garcia led the Cowboys to a championship win by scoring 31 points even with a torn meniscus, and his jersey will soon hang in the arena as a tribute to his achievements. His turnaround began when McNeese gave him a second chance (he made the most of it). The American Press
- ➤ Students with disabilities from Jeff Davis Parish competed on the new track at Lake Arthur High School during the 5th annual Special Olympics track event on March 19. Volunteers and student-athletes ran sprints and relays, marking a historic day for inclusion. 7 KPLC
