  • ACTS Theatre presents the musical Sister Act, based on the 1992 film, tonight at 7:30 with additional performances running through March 22. The production offers a new interpretation of the familiar story through engaging cast performances.  7 KPLC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Louisiana officials said recent federal law changes will require $42.3 million extra spending on SNAP starting July 1— the state’s share of administrative costs rises to 75% while work requirement exemptions narrow, which may increase strain on food banks.  The American Press

  • McNeese invites fans to join a watch party at Townsley Law Arena on Sunday as its NCAA tournament journey begins, with doors opening at 4 p.m. + matchups to be announced on CBS at 5 p.m.  The American Press
  • McNeese AD Heath Schroyer said he stayed focused on supporting head coach Bill Armstrong and the men’s basketball team after a third straight conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance, dismissing LSU job rumors (he turned down higher offers).   • After two weeks of spring workouts, the Cowboys will hold their first scrimmage today at Navarre Stadium at 10 a.m.—the team will run 70-80 plays in third-down and red zone situations to assess both newcomers and returning players.  The American Press
  • The Cowgirls ended their best season with a 71-59 loss to SFA in the Southland Conference title game at Townsley Law Arena on Thursday, March 12. The team, ending a 21-game win streak, will learn its WBIT destination Sunday.  The American Press
