- ➤ Moss Bluff resident LJ Wimberly underwent emergency neck surgery at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital on Feb.6 after rapidly worsening symptoms; doctors said the operation was critical to prevent paralysis and save his life. He is set to recover fully in about three months (after a 12-week neck brace period). 7 KPLC

- ➤ The Cowboys begin their spring camp on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. under head coach Matt Viator to integrate 28 new players during 15 weekend workouts + three planned scrimmages throughout March. The American Press
- ➤ McNeese's Cowboys won 8-1 against Nicholls on Friday, Feb. 27, at Ben Meyer Diamond. Second baseman Matt Stancliff had a key 5-for-5 game (including a home run, double, two stolen bases and four runs) that raised his average to .485 as the team secured back-to-back wins. The American Press
