Good morning, Lake Charles.

Downtown Lake Charles hosted its vibrant Mardi Gras parade today.

The festival featured 40 floats + 140 ATVs, 55 horses and 2 mules as hundreds of locals caught beads, candy and treasures and enjoyed sunny weather after last year's rain.

The annual Mardi Gras parade in Lake Charles will feature colorful floats, music, and festivities as organizers highlight a cherished local tradition.

Neighbors can look forward to a community celebration that brings the spirit of the season to life.

Activist Doretha Combre broke barriers in Lake Charles by fighting segregation in education and supporting the integration of McNeese in 1954—her legacy lives on with a local elementary school renamed in her honor.

The Cowboys will seek their 20th win today at 6:30 p.m. in Townsley Law Arena & host Houston Christian.

The team is 19-5 overall after a Saturday win and is aiming for a third straight 20-win season while vying for a top seed in the Southland Conference tournament.
