  • LaPlace native Ciara Sanders leads an art exhibit at Black Heritage Gallery during Black History Month, showcasing vibrant portraits of athletes and African American culture. The exhibit runs until March 27.  7 KPLC
  • Legendary Cajun artist Jesse Lege returns to Lake Charles on Friday, Feb. 20 at the CFMA building on East Prien Lake Road with top musicians – including Grammy winner Jimmy Breaux – for a show from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. that costs $10 admission and offers free entry for children 12.  Gator 99.5

  • Lake Charles received over $1.3 billion in federal funding allocating millions to local projects. The Harbor and Terminal District is set to use $6.8 million for rail + cargo enhancements while Chennault International Airport and a North Lake Charles water upgrade will soon begin work to expand operations.  7 KPLC

  • McNeese's basketball coaching staff welcomes former LSU coach Dale Brown's grandson, Peyton Prudhomme, who begins as an assistant today in Lake Charles.   • Jada Munoz hit her first season home run as the Cowgirls scored four early runs to secure a 5-2 win over North Texas Friday at Joe Miller Field. McNeese will play two games Saturday, facing Tulsa at 1:00 p.m. and ULM later to finish the tournament.  The American Press
