- ➤ The Louisiana DOTD began salting and brining roads on Saturday to help prevent ice from forming ahead of freezing weather in Lake Charles. The 24-hour operation uses 400,000 pounds of salt and 14,000 gallons of brine to keep roads safer for drivers. 7 KPLC
