- ➤ CDL permit holders can enroll in SOWELA Technical Community College’s seven‑week CDL Class A training course starting Monday, Feb. 2. The program features VR tools — including the $130,000 L3 Harris Hawk-I simulator — and a free monthly online permit class from 6 to 9 p.m. 7 KPLC

- ➤ TrueCaller reported that Louisiana ranks among the top states for unwanted phone calls as Lake Charles residents face rising scams including offers for unsecured loans and false claims from fake officers, and local police advise hanging up on such calls. 7 KPLC
