Southwest Louisiana will celebrate Juneteenth with a week of community events in Lake Charles and surrounding parishes, featuring a parade, art exhibit, health equity day, kid fit Olympics, movie night, bingo, talent show, comedy performance, family day with concert and cook-off, plus a cleanup, running June 14 to 20.
Lake Charles sports fans can enjoy three baseball events this month as youth tournaments will host the Jennie Finch and Perfect Game Bayou World Series from June 11 to 14 in Sulphur and other ballparks, and the Gumbeaux Gators will play 11 home games at Joe Miller Ballpark in town.
